T&S Plan Move
A few weeks ago our local newspaper, the Hawick News, reported our plans to move our offices and workshop to new premises in the town. We can confirm that the deal is done and planning is now well and truly underway to move our offices and workshop to another site in Hawick.
All staff are actively involved in the project, which we hope will be completed by the end of August. Although it has been quite a demanding task getting the move underway while continuing to get orders out the door, we are pleased to say that business is continuing as usual.
Following the news of acquisitions last year, the outlook for T&S just keeps getting better as we plan to move to a new factory. The move is something we have been considering for a while, but the chance to acquire the 60,000 sq ft Burnfoot building has turned the idea into reality. This exciting move will give us the opportunity to start from scratch and develop a layout which will be perfect for us to improve efficiency and help us grow our business.
We have bought in the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service to help us plan the new layouts and all our staff have had the opportunity to engage in the decision making process. In all we will invest nearly £250,000 over the course of this year on fit out, new equipment and removal costs.
This will leave our current premises vacant providing the opportunity for more developments along Commercial Road, where a new Sainsburys opened just before Christmas. It is promising to see that there are prospects and scope for businesses to develop within the town.
