About Turnbull & Scott

Turnbull & Scott (Engineers) Ltd have been involved in the heat exchange field since formation of the company in 1933. Over the past 30 years we have become well known as manufacturers of "finned" or "gilled" tubes for a wide range of industrial and commercial heating and cooling applications.

A sound reputation has also been established for manufacture of custom built extended surface heat exchangers for industrial processes of all kinds employing steam water and thermal oils.

In 1991 we acquired the renowned Thermolier unit heater business adding this high quality robust range of space heaters to our products serving the industrial and commercial space heating markets.

Company History

1933	"Turnbull Aitkin as Engineers and Millwrights" Originally incorporated. Name later changed to "Turnbull, Aitkin & Scott".
1955	Company name changed to "Turnbull & Scott"
1969	Company acquired by Hunt Moscrop, Lancashire based firm.
1971	First Management Buyout
1991	Acquired Thermolier Unit heating company
1999	Mr C Rowe and Mr J Rafferty buy the company allowing Managing Director to retire.
2000	Factory Refurbished and Expanded
2001	Introduced first Finned Tube Radiator
2002	Launch of Trench Heating Product
2003	Turnbull & Scott celebrate its 70th year in business.
2004	Acquisition of neighbouring building for factory extension Received Investors In People Award
2008	Business acquired by a joint investment from members of staff and members of Tricap, a business angels organisation www.tricapital.co.uk. Messrs Rowe and Rafferty retire and Peter Murphy appointed Managing Director
