Keith started his apprenticeship with Turnbull & Scott in August 1977, the very day that Elvis Presley died. Notwithstanding the trauma a young schoolboy would have experienced from both those events, Keith studied at Borders College in Galashiels and acquired his City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering.
Today Keith is the Production Manager at Turnbull & Scott and coordinates the work of our skilled engineers, as well as overseeing the Apprentice Programme, ensuring all our apprentices are properly mentored and given the support they need. Why does Keith enjoy his job so much to keep him here for 32 years? "Its got the variety, every job we do, for every customer, is different" he explains, "I guess it's what has made us so successful, our flexibility for our customers".
Having retired from playing rugby with Hawick YM, Keith now spends his spare time looking after local youngsters as an Officer in the Boys Brigade.
