Supporting Customers on their Journeys to Net Zero

We at Turnbull & Scott are increasingly involved in supporting customers across many industries on their journeys to Net Zero. Along the way, we, like our customers, have had to learn a new Net Zero language which has however helped us contextualize how we ‘fit in’ on our customers’ journeys.

Working directly with end-users, with Energy Service Companies (ESCos) and EPC contractors our work largely relates to helping industrial customers reduce their ‘Scope 1’ (below) emissions (direct emissions from owned or controlled sources) as categorised within the *Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol.

For the benefit of those keen to improve their language skills too: Scope 1 covers direct emissions from owned or controlled sources. Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, steam, heating, and cooling consumed by the reporting company. Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions that occur in a company’s value chain.
