The age of Themolier

We believe that at this point John Wallace, who joined Turnbull & Scott from Cochran’s Boilers in 1969, had acquired Turnbull & Scott from Hunt & Moscrop and Turnbull & Scott were manufacturing the heat exchangers used in the Thermolier space heater.

90s

In the early 1990s Cliff Rowe was heading up the Thermolier division of Mather & Platt and at some stage was instructed to dissolve the business as it was no longer core for Mather & Platt. Turnbull & Scott, under John Wallace's leadership, acquired the Thermolier space heater and Cliff joined as Sales Director. Over a century after Mather had first branded a Thermolier space heater Turnbull & Scott had picked up the challenge of ensuring Thermolier products remained relevant in a fast-changing world. This was the beginning of a pivotal chapter in the company's history.
