Tailored Trench Heating Solution for a Curved Hotel Brasserie Space

A refurbishment project required electric trench heating for the lower brasserie area of a country house hotel. The starting point was surveyed wall alignment information, which formed the basis for translating the site's physical geometry into a workable heater design. Coordination ran between the main contractor, the architect, and our technical team throughout.

The core challenge was translating a non uniform curved recess into a manufacturable trench heater design. The proposed curve was a spline rather than a constant radius, which created genuine uncertainty over whether the geometry was workable at all.
Resolving it took architect collaboration, revised CAD exchange, and multiple rounds of clarification covering inner versus outer radius, trench width, the split between straight and curved sections, and exact heater placement. The formed recess, CAD geometry, and heater layout all had to align with the architect's detail before anything could be manufactured.

The final specification settled on a configuration of active and dummy curved sections, supported by dimensioned drawings and an outer radius calculation of 6620 mm. Options for section sizing were weighed directly against the recess geometry rather than fitted to a standard catalogue product.
The project completed and closed successfully in June 2026.

Not every heating requirement arrives as a catalogue selection. This project advanced through survey interpretation, architect collaboration, CAD exchange, and repeated dimensional refinement, with the design developing alongside the building rather than being specified in isolation.
